About rx-digestion
rx-digestion exists to fill a gap: the internet is full of gut health advice, but very little of it is honest about what the evidence actually says — or what the author earns when you click a link. We fix both problems.
Our Mission
Digestive symptoms — bloating, IBS, acid reflux, constipation, and more — affect a large share of adults at some point in their lives. The category is full of pseudoscience, oversold supplements, and affiliate sites that rank products based on commission rates rather than clinical evidence.
rx-digestion is built on three principles: show your evidence, show what you earn, and never let those two things mix. We cite peer-reviewed research for our clinical claims, and every one of those citations links straight through to its primary record. Every recommendation discloses the commission we receive. Rankings reflect the science, not the payout.
Who We Are
rx-digestion is an independent, evidence-based review site focused entirely on gut health. We are not a supplement company and we sell no products of our own — so our only incentive is to be genuinely useful enough that you come back and trust us.
Our content is produced by the rx-digestion editorial team: writers and researchers who specialize in reading and summarizing clinical literature for a general audience. We are building a medical advisory board of licensed clinicians to formally review our work (see below); until an article carries a named reviewer, it is labelled “evidence-based content” rather than “medically reviewed,” and we never imply a review that has not happened.
How We Work
Every article follows the same process. We start from the clinical question a reader actually has, then gather the strongest available evidence — prioritizing systematic reviews and randomized controlled trials over observational studies, and clinical guidelines and FDA labeling over manufacturer marketing. Each clinical claim is tied to a specific source, identified by its PubMed ID (PMID) and linked to its primary record.
Product rankings are built before commercial terms are attached: we score options on the strength of their evidence, mechanism, and safety, and only then add the affiliate link and disclose what we earn. The methodology page documents the scoring in full and lists every commission. When new evidence emerges or labeling changes, we revisit and re-date the article; when we get something wrong, we correct it and note what changed.
Our Approach
Cause-type architecture
Gut symptoms have many causes — IBS, acid reflux, constipation, bloating and gas, SIBO, and food intolerances each require different treatments. We organize content by gut type so you get relevant information, not generic advice.
Commission transparency
Every affiliate link on this site shows the exact commission we earn — not in a buried disclaimer, but directly below each call-to-action button. Our full methodology page lists every active affiliate relationship with commission rates.
Evidence-based content
Claims are backed by peer-reviewed clinical trials, FDA approval documents, and clinical guidelines — not marketing materials or secondary coverage. Confidence levels are stated explicitly; we do not overstate weak evidence.
Medical Review
We are actively recruiting a board-certified gastroenterologist to join our medical advisory board. In the meantime, all content is researched using peer-reviewed sources and clinical guidelines. Articles pending formal medical review are noted as such.
If you are a board-certified gastroenterologist interested in advisory board participation, we would welcome a conversation. Please reach out via the contact email below.
Editorial Standards & Sourcing
Clinical claims on this site are sourced to peer-reviewed research, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, FDA labeling, and clinical guidelines — never marketing materials. We prioritize the strongest available evidence and state our confidence level explicitly; where evidence is weak or mixed, we say so rather than overstate it.
Every source is identified by its PubMed ID (PMID) and we are adding a direct link to the primary record for each one. Affiliate relationships never influence rankings — our methodology page explains exactly how products are scored and lists every commission we earn.
Corrections
Accuracy matters more than being right the first time. If you spot a factual error or an outdated claim, email us at corrections@rx-digestion.com. We review every report and, when a correction is warranted, update the article and note what changed and when.
